Archiestown Village council is now registered for gift Aid.What this means is that foe every pound donated to avc, we are able to claim up to 28p in every £1 donated. In the last financial year we received £400 in donations which, had we been registered then, we could have claimed £112 from the tax man if all donors had made a gift aid declaration.
To make a gift aid declaration is a once only action which will remain valid for as long as you wish. The gift aid scheme does not affect your tax position or the amount of tax you have to pay. It really is a pain free way of giving more. The only proviso is that in the tax year in which you have made the donation, you paid enough income tax and/or capital gains tax to cover the amount reclaimed. If you wish to make future donations subject to gift aid, then please see the treasurer, Steve Oliver, burnroy house, Archiestown, 01340 810442 who has the form for you to complete and sign. I will have spare forms at village events. This will mean that in future, whenever you are kind enough to make a donation please put your name to it so your donation can be accounted for gift aid reclaim as I will have to keep a register of all gift aid donors and when they donated money. Please note that entrance charges to events do not qualify as donations and all donations should be free from any hidden benefit as a “quid pro quo” or as payment for goods or services e.g. Private hire of the hall would not qualify as a donation. |
