ARCHIESTOWN SURVEY Spring, 2009 THIS IS IMPORTANT TO YOU and Us The 250th Anniversary of the village founding is approaching in 2010-2011. To recognise that occasion the Archiestown Village Council have identified a number of initiatives that would significantly upgrade, enhance and improve our existing facilities and we’d like your input to assist us to prioritise them as we go forward to apply for funding support. These are · The Village Hall· The Playing Field· The Playing Field Pavilion· 250th Commemoration We’d like you complete the following anonymous survey and return to Doreen Aldridge at the Archiestown Post Office or to Jim Hart at Forest Lodge, Archiestown, Aberlour, AB38 7RB or to any Village Council member by Saturday, June 20th, the day of the annual Archiestown Village Fete. Additional copies of this survey are available for collection at the post Office or on the Archiestown web-page http://www.archiestown.com The analysis will also be posted on the Post Office notice board and on the Archiestown webpage, when complete. The Village Council would appreciate a high number of responses, so each family member is encouraged to complete a survey. The survey is primarily intended to ensure that the wishes and priorities of the community are fully understood and secondly to support any funding application we might make in respect of any of the initiatives. We are in the process of developing a medium term (Strategic) plan for the village and improved communication is part of that endeavour. In the free comment box at the end of each section we’d be particularly interested to understand how any proposed changes would impact you. E.g. Would you use the facility more? Would you use it rather than visit another neighbouring facility? Would you be more likely to participate in social groups (badminton, bowls etc)? Any other constructive comment would also be most welcome Please take the short time to complete and return this survey as the results will have a big impact on our community. Thank you Jim Hart Secretary AVC Tel. 01340 810889 SECTION 1 – VILLAGE HALL IMPROVEMENTS As a result of an energy audit, we’ve identified that this is likely to involve the installation of new skylights, a new heating system (possibly wood pellet), a new heat distribution system, improved insulation to walls and ceiling, double glazing and draftproofing.

“Natural play” refers to a “low tech” system that uses natural elements such as wood pillars, boulders, sand etc. to enable the facilities to blend easier into the natural environment, while encouraging children to develop their own creative ideas for play and adventure. PRIORITIESPlease indicate in priority order (1-8) the play equipment you would most like to see in the new park. 1 = Most like to see – (highest priority) 8 = Least like to see – (lowest priority)
